Héctor Esrawe – Materia Prima

The Franz Mayer Museum presents Hector Esrawe – Materia Prima (Raw Material), an exhibit on the Mexican designer, offering an overview of the processes and methodologies that he has learned and perfected over the past twenty-five years.

Ana Elena Mallet curated the exhibit working with Manuel Bañó from Esrawe Studio, it takes a look at 30 projects related to furniture, objects and interior design, on display in notebooks, sketches, models and photographs from both private collections and studio archives. The exhibit explores the ways in which objects or spaces are developed through research, collaboration and the pursuit of impeccable manufacturing to create a sense of pride and belonging from the craftsman, and in this way, keep it alive.

With this exhibit, the Franz Mayer museum continues to provide its support for the dissemination and investigation of design and the decorative arts in Mexico.
