Esrawe Showroom

New collaborative space in Mexico City focused on design, furniture, limited editions and art.

ESRAWE is a platform that promotes collaborations between designers and creatives with whom it participates. ESRAWE integrates in this first exhibition iconic pieces of limited editions from VISSIO, EWE and Héctor Esrawe’s own work, as well as high-design furniture from ESRAWE Studio and young designers such as Manu Bañó. It also presents in alliance with the Arróniz Gallery, a selection of national and international artists.

Héctor Esrawe

Esrawe’s designs consist of furniture, object, interior design, architecture, public space installations, museography and Limited Editions: Sculptural collectible pieces in numbered series ranging from 7 to 15 pieces per edition.

The beauty and innovation of Hector’s work lies in the understanding of the value of his cultural heritage, which allows him to translate it into new languages and possibilities. He works hand in hand with small craft workshops through a horizontal collaboration. He values perfection as much as the accident embedded in a craft process, finding implicit beauty in both.

Hector firmly believes in collaboration and multidisciplinary interaction. He is founder of Esrawe Studio and co-founder of EWE, VISSIO and MASA, which aim to promote Mexican collectible design.

Esrawe Studio

Esrawe Studio is a multidisciplinary design atelier and a laboratory of concepts, a highly qualified creative and professional firm with international recognition. Our design practice is based on methodologies and on a solid knowledge. We generate comprehensive design solutions for architecture, interior design and furniture projects.

Our design products promote innovation and are nourished by our artisanal and cultural heritage, while being conscious with the environmental footprint. Our pieces are developed and produced in Mexico, high quality furniture that over the years has become a reference in our country and in the world, created by skilled hands of Mexican artisans. The materials we work with are wood, metal, upholstery and stone.

EWE

EWE is a design studio based in Mexico City, devoted to the preservation and advancement of Mexico’s rich artisan heritage, while embracing new mediums and languages for the execution of limited-edition sculptural and functional objects.

With a desire to reflect tradition as part of the natural flow of design, EWE praises diverse techniques, blends primitive roughness with pristine surfaces, and uses natural empathic materials that appeal to the senses. Mexican history is EWE’s inspiration for forging new ideas that have substance and meaning.

VISSIO

VISSIO is a platform for unlimited experimentation. VISSIO is a collaboration between designers, artists, and architects with Nouvel artisans to realize unique and limited-edition pieces that shatter boundaries between art and design. Nouvel is one of the leading custom glass workshops in America. VISSIO pieces reinterpret glass to challenge and ignite the relationship between concept, form and utility – beautifully.

Manu Bañó

OBJ-01 is an understandable simple gesture, an object that needs no explanation. At a glance, it reveals its material, its manufacturing process, its function and its use. Pure geometric figures build the lighting fixture; a rectangle, a circle and a cylinder at the back which contains the LED light spot. The circle, when cut out, adopts the function of a screen and can rotate 360° to direct the light at will. OBJ-01 is the first solo work by the Valencian designer, resident in Mexico City, Manu Bañó, who is co-founder of the design studio EWE and Associate of the renowned furniture, interior design and architecture firm, Esrawe Studio, in Mexico City.
