Héctor Esrawe

Héctor Esrawe was born in 1968 in Mexico City. He studied Industrial Design at Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) until 1992. In 2003 he launched Esrawe Studio, his multidisciplinary design practice which he directs until today.

Esrawe’s design includes a great variety of typologies, from furniture and limited edition pieces, to interiors, architecture, installations in public spaces and museography. Hector strongly believes in collaboration and multidisciplinary interaction, which has allowed him to work with other design and architecture studios, urbanists, artists, curators, and set designers. This enthusiasm has led him to be co-founder of EWE, VISSIO and MASA, which aim to promote Mexican collectible design. He is also a founding partner of the perfumery brand Xinú.

He has achieved international recognition for his work and professional career. He was recently recognized by The American Institute of Architects as Honorary Fellow, he was mentioned as one of AD Germany Top 100 Creatives 2021 and AD Mexico Top 100 Creatives 2022, and he has received awards such as the World Special Prize for an Interior by Prix Versailles 2021, Interior Design Studio of the Year 2020 by Dezeen Awards, Best of Year Awards by Interior Design, Azure Awards, among others.

His work has been shown at numerous galleries, such as Objective Gallery in China and New York 2022, Collectional Gallery in the United Arab Emirates 2021, Oliver Gustav in Denmark 2023, Les Ateliers Courbet Gallery in New York 2024, and with MASA Gallery in Mexico and New York 2022. His work is part of several private collections, as well as the permanent collection of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

Studio

Esrawe Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio located in Mexico City. Our aim is to develop furniture, interior design and architectural solutions for hospitality, cultural and residential projects.

Our team consists of highly experienced industrial designers, architects, production technicians and graphic designers who make sure that each one of the studio’s projects is optimally crafted from conceptualization to the finishing details. The studio’s creative essence is present throughout the entire process; a process perfected every day to offer new innovative concepts.

At Esrawe, design is a living process of dialogue, linking the users with their surroundings. It is all about feeling the evolution of design, which stems from an understanding of basic physical and emotional needs of a given moment, and in each context.

The studio breaths of dedication, passion and persistence, focusing on fine details and quality, always pushing boundaries and taking on new challenges.
