Mercado San Pedro
Distrito Armida is a new development in the Valle Oriente district in San Pedro Garza García, designed by the American firm Jerde Partnership. It is a large urban complex that integrates housing, commercial, entertainment and office spaces.
Mercado San Pedro emerges in this context as an avant-garde gastronomic proposal with a strong identity that stands out as pioneer of this type of experience in the city. The building opens towards the plaza to harbor a covered, public space of urban character. On the ground floor, the architecture limits fade away to integrate the flows of the plaza and lead us inside.
Preserving the language of the plaza, the Market expresses itself with sobriety on the outside, of neutral materiality. The palette is contrasted by vivid color ceramic skylights that bathe the interiors in light, creating a warm atmosphere with a strong personality. The double-height access floor comprises a wide variety of food stands of different formats and sizes, recreating the atmosphere of traditional markets. A colored and sculptural staircase leads to the restaurants and terraces on the upper floor.
